CGC Landran Hosts Smart India Hackathon 2022, Software Edition for the 5th consecutive year
SIH-2022 is jointly organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, All India Council for Technical Education, Persistent Systems, and i4c. SIH is a nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell to provide students with a platform to solve the pressing problems of the government, ministries, departments, industries, and other organizations. It is being conducted annually, since 2017, in two formats i.e. SIH Software and SIH Hardware Editions for higher education students.
CGC Landran was chosen for the country's biggest National level technical event "Smart India Hackathon 2022 for the 5th consecutive year. Adding more to its glory was the fact that out of the total 75 pan-India nodal centers CGC Landran was among the 8 centers chosen for the Prime Minister's direct interaction with the participating teams. The institution hosted around 200-plus students of 27 teams from different states, across the country for this edition of the hackathon.
The winning teams were judged on the basis of key parameters which included the approach of the solution provided for the problem statement, its criticality/impact, the innovation, ambitiousness and technology, the plan execution demo, and the user experience. All the winning teams were felicitated with cash prizes of Rs One lakh each, certificates, and trophies by the Chief Guest Mr. Vivek Atrey, Ex IAS, Motivational speaker & Chairman of PRCI, Chandigarh. The nine teams were adjudged winners based on the solutions they provided to the problem statements given to them by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, India Meteorological Department (IMD), and the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES). The winners of SIHJunior 2022, Harmanjot Singh, and Aarav Jain were also felicitated with cash prizes of Rs 25,000 each for their innovations.
