The students of Chandigarh College of Pharmacy, CGC Landran, proudly showcased their scientific talent and innovation during the celebration of National Science Day 2026 by securing the First Prize for their innovative project titled “SaniBin: Sanitary Pad Incinerator for Waste Management.” The event provided a vibrant platform for budding pharmacists to participate in scientific presentations, model demonstrations, and research discussions, where students displayed exceptional creativity, critical thinking, and dedication toward advancing pharmaceutical and healthcare sciences. The award-winning project, SaniBin, was developed as a simple, practical, and cost-effective solution for the disposal of used sanitary napkins. The design focuses on the use of incineration as an efficient method to reduce sanitary waste volume and promote better hygiene and waste management practices. This project serves as a significant preliminary step toward improving sanitary waste disposal systems in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. The remarkable achievement reflects the students’ enthusiasm for research and innovation while highlighting the institution’s commitment to nurturing future scientists, researchers, and healthcare professionals. The management and faculty members congratulated the students for their outstanding performance and appreciated their efforts in addressing an important social and environmental issue through scientific innovation.
