Centre of Excellence

Centre of Excellence (CoE): A department willing to establish a state of the art centre with the intention of improving the quality of ecosystem and knowledge management in the identified sector. To achieve this goal, the CoE shall gather persons with specialized skills to leverage the same for finding the best practices in their sector and disseminating the same to other stakeholders in the system.

The CoE Programme conceived by Govt. of India that will focus primarily on building an innovation fuelled entrepreneurial ecosystem with the aim of inclusive socio-economic development through job and wealth creation. This process is aimed to be advantageous to the society in general through its beneficiaries such as the state government, startups, and private sector and academic institutions.

Objectives

Develop Integrated, vocational technical and domain deep expertise in chosen research areas.

To foster high impact, holistic, multidisciplinary research and innovation as per NEP by facilitating cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Identify problem areas to be researched based on the needs of large corporate and MSME.

Develop and validate research solutions addressing these needs.

Common Goals of CoE

Innovation and Research: CoE labs are often established to foster innovation and conduct cutting-edge research in a specific field or technology. They aim to stay ahead of industry trends, explore emerging technologies, and develop innovative solutions that can drive business growth.

Expertise Development: CoE labs serve as hubs for developing expertise and specialized knowledge within an organization. They provide a platform for employees to enhance their skills, receive advanced training, and gain hands-on experience with the latest tools and technologies.

Best Practices and Standards: CoE labs promote the adoption of best practices, standards, and methodologies within the organization. They establish guidelines and frameworks for project management, software development, quality assurance, and other key areas to ensure consistency and quality across projects.

Quality Assurance and Testing: CoE labs often focus on quality assurance and testing to ensure that products and services meet high standards of performance, reliability, and security. They develop testing strategies, frameworks, and tools to identify and address defects early in the development lifecycle.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: CoE labs facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams and departments with in the organization. They provide a platform for sharing insights, exchanging ideas, and collaborating on projects, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.

Proof of Concept and Prototyping: CoE labs help organizations validate ideas, concepts, and technologies through proof of concept (POC) projects and prototyping. About CoE: This CoE was set up by CEC-CGC and later supported by AIM, NITI, Aayog; Govt. of India. Itis equipped with high class technology to facilitate teaching, training and research activities with wide range of roles from search and rescue to personal and business drones.

Cyber Security

About CoE:The Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security is a dedicated space focused on safeguarding the digital world by bringing together experts from education, industry, and government to develop innovative solutions for combating cyber threats. It aims to build skills, raise awareness, and create a secure digital environment through advanced tools, research, and training programs. Within this center, the cyber security lab serves as a specialized environment where professionals, researchers, and students can gain hands-on experience in areas like network security, ethical hacking, malware analysis, and incident response. Equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and virtual machines, the lab enables users to simulate and analyze digital threats in a controlled setting, preparing them to tackle real-world cyber security challenges with confidence.

Event Name: One Month Internship Program: Ethical Hacking.

Outcome:This COE will provide advanced skills in ethical hacking, threat analysis, and cyber security practices, enhancing their expertise and industry readiness. It will also enhance students' awareness of online safety, digital threats, and secure internet practices, inspiring responsible online behavior and interest in cyber security careers.
