The year 2001 marked the threshold of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran. From the college’s initial stage to the present established one, Engineering prevailed as a flagship program. Our college has always relied on hard work and this reliance helped us write our success story. The sincerity and dedication put in by the concerned authorities have had some of the eminent ranking agencies award us to recognize our contribution towards excellence in education. CGC Landran considered as one of the Best Engineering Colleges in India due to these accolades. Till date, the college has been receiving numerous accolades and recently, it has been honored as the College with best quality Education in Northern India by Katalyst Research,best College Infrastructure in Punjab by IAA India Education Awards & Summit, Leading Engineering College for Placements in North India by Times Cyber Media and many more acknowledging the same.

As a matter of fact, the education industry in India has become very competitive, where engineering colleges mushroom up every year. Nonetheless, inquisitive students know that it is only robust excellence which sticks around in the long run. Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, a convivial place as it is, has invariably fulfilled the dreams and aspirations of the students. The provisions of nonpareil teaching, training and placement facilities have hoisted our students’ delight. However, this article is more than just underlining our pedagogy advancements. Believing that there are an uncounted number of students from engineering or otherwise who aspire to get global exposure, we have facilitated them accordingly. In a span of only eighteen years, we have gained the trust of not only students but their parents as well. This college has successfully sent so many students for varied study options abroad through the tie-ups we have with International Universities. How has it been possible, How did this college network the global platforms? The answers have been given hereafter:

1.International Tie-ups: You are about to know why CGC claims to be the best destination for getting international exposure. So, the college has liaisons with more than thirty-five leading universities across the globe. Irrespective of which course you have opted for, say in engineering or top management courses, you have equal opportunity to study overseas via a Student Exchange Program. The countries where students can study include the USA, Canada, Australia, Belgium, the UK, France, Finland, Netherlands, Denmark, Serbia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Russia, the UAE, and China. These tie-ups can also help the students in attending summer or winter schools, semester exchange, and higher education opportunities.

The students from other countries also have equal access to study in, at CGC. By just fulfilling some eligibility criteria, the international students can ascertain their new abode-CGC, Landran.

2. Industrial Collaborations: Industrial collaborations play a very vital role in getting the Institute recognized and widen the scope of reach thereby benefiting the students. Chandigarh Group of Colleges has collaborated with some of the most renowned companies both at the national as well as international level. The college has signed MOUs with some international entities. For example, Global Education Management Ltd (GEM) is a UK based company which provides paid internships, work experience, and training to students on the national and international forefront. Similarly, there is another entity named World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME), which offers joint projects and programs in the fields pertaining to SMEs and Entrepreneurship. On the same lines, an MOU has been signed with SAP which aims at providing academic assistance to students as per the UN global standards.

Besides industrial collaborations, some of the international companies have also become our regular recruiters. Due to this, the chances of them recruiting our students have enhanced further. Very recently, two of our students from Hotel Management Department have been successfully placed at Hilton Hotel, Tampa Florida and Grand Hyatt, Texas, USA. A lot of other companies across other verticals also regularly recruit our students. Just to name a few as Microsoft, Hitachi, Samsung, Google, Hyundai, Deloitte, etc.

3. International Participation: CGC, Landran constantly encourages the students to participate in International contests and other opportunities. The college has always backed the students with full support and has never left a stone unturned so as to make the students show their full potential in all spheres. Gearing up could not have been possible without our enthusiastic students. So this consortium of awesome students and faculty has kicked off many international competitions. Our ECE students participated in CanSat 2018 USA. It is an annual student design-build-launch competition appertaining to space systems. Impressive? Hold on, the list has just started. Our students have also participated in the Young Chemists Committee, Leadership Development Workshop held in Dallas, Texas, USA. International chapters further include participation by Mechanical Department in the FORMULA NORTH competition held at Ontario, Canada. There is much more to share on our international achievements as our students have been and will continue to participate in the times to come adding a lot many feathers to the cap.
