As a part of World Breastfeeding Week (1st–7th August), the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized a guest lecture on August 7, 2025, at 10:30 A.M. in the Seminar Hall, Block 5. The session was graced by Dr. Anmol Sidhu, Pediatrician at Livasa Hospital, Mohali.
Dr. Sidhu delivered an insightful lecture on the significance of breastfeeding in the early months of life, emphasizing its nutritional, emotional, and immunological benefits for both mother and child. She discussed the barriers to effective breastfeeding and strategies to create a sustainable support system for lactating mothers through family, community, and healthcare workers. The interactive session also addressed commonly held myths around breastfeeding, clarifying doubts raised by students.
