WORKSHOP ON FOOD SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION (FOSTAC)

A workshop on Food Safety Training and Certification (FoSTaC), the training division of the food regulator FSSAI, was conducted by Mr. Prem Chander Sharma to enhance awareness and compliance among food handlers and students. The session focused on essential food safety practices, Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and regulatory requirements under the Food Safety and Standards Act. The session introduced students to key concepts such as safe food handling, proper storage, personal hygiene, and the importance of clean environments in food preparation. Interactive discussions and practical insights helped students relate these principles to real-life situations. The workshop successfully created awareness about consumer safety, encouraged responsible food practices, and motivated students to become informed advocates of safe and healthy food.
