Women’s Day Celebration at Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran
Changing the mindset of the society is what we need to foster gender equality in the world. This was concluded during the #InternationalWomensDay celebration on campus today! Set on the theme of Each for Equal, a panel discussion was organized that propagated the ethos of gender parity. The event witnessed esteemed guests from the region namely Mr.Gurmeet Singh Chauhan (IPS), AIG, Punjab Police, Dr. Shaveta Gupta, Gynecologist (Max Hospital), Ms. Sharmita Bhinder, Co. founder of NGO ‘Empower’, Writer & Blogger, Mr. Amit Rana, Advocate(Chandigarh and Haryana High Court), Mrs. Mili Garg, Allora Mrs. India & Legal Advisor, PB, IHRO, and Mr. Yadwinder Singh, Founder Chairman, NGO Tushar who formed the panelists for the discussion CGC Landran’s Special Tribute to women…A woman is an epitome of courage, strength, power, and wisdom. A woman is a single being that subsumes a lot within while staying calm from the outside. And on this International Women’s Day, CGC Landran salutes all the hard-working, dedicated and courageous ladies around the world. International Women’s Day is celebrated on the 8th of March every year. The world observed the first International Women’s Day in the year 1975 while India started celebrating it from the year 1911. Steadily, the world is corroborating the rise of this gender, and equality is lifting it to a new height. The theme for International Women’s Day 2020 is #EachForEqual and it is all about ‘Collective Individualism’.
