The Department of Biotechnology at Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT) and TPP department, CGC Landran, in collaboration with the Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI), Mohali inaugurated its much-awaited 10-day Summer Course on “Food Quality, Water Safety, and Nanotechnology Applications in Wastewater Treatment” on June 23, 2025.
The opening day began with a warm orientation session, offering participants a clear understanding of the program’s objectives. The first technical session was led by Dr. Abhinoy Kishore, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, CCT. He delivered a thought-provoking introduction to Nanotechnology, exploring its transformative role in food and water safety, as well as wastewater treatment. He emphasized the pressing environmental issues and how cutting-edge nanotech solutions are paving the way forward.
This was followed by a dynamic and interactive session on nanoparticle synthesis, jointly conducted by Dr. Suksham Pal and Dr. Ranju Rathore, Assistant Professors in the Department of Biotechnology. In the post-lunch session, students received hands-on training in laboratory techniques related to nanotechnology applications. The day concluded with an energetic group discussion, fostering peer learning and encouraging collaboration among students, researchers, and faculty.
Overall, Day 1 laid a strong foundation for the course, offering an engaging and intellectually enriching environment that connected academic theory with real-world applications
