Students of MSc Biotech, Department of Biotechnology, CCT, CGC Landran representing Maritag BioSolutions, marked a significant presence at RISEON 1.0, Start-up competition, bagging a first prize of Rs 15, 000. RiseOn 1.0 was a startup and innovation-focused event organized by the Department of RISE, CGC Landran. The event was held in collaboration with TiE-Chandigarh, under the broader support of Startup Punjab, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), and the Ministry of Education, Government of India and aimed at fostering entrepreneurial spirit, showcasing innovative startups, and building a collaborative ecosystem for budding entrepreneurs.
Maritag BioSolutions is an eco-conscious startup founded by Biotech students Kundan Tiwari, Apoorva Mehra, and Inderjeet Singh under the mentorship of Dr. Mandheer Kaur (Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology). The venture focuses on transforming flower waste into commercial corporate gifting products, including cards, invitations, and envelopes — promoting sustainability through creativity. The event served as a catalyst for promoting innovation-driven enterprises within academic institutions.
