Industrial Visit to Guru Nanak Industries Limited, Rajpura
Department of Applied Sciences, Chandigarh Engineering College organized an industrial visit to Guru Nanak Industries Limited, Rajpura on 8th February, 2019 for 54 students of B.Tech (ECE), Section A, 2nd Semester along with Mr. Harsimran Jeet Singh and Mrs.Namrata Thakur (Faculty Coordinators). Guru Nanak Industries is established since 1980 manufacturing machinery for Rice Shelling & Manufacturer & Exporter of: Self Harvester Combine, Maize Harvester Combine, Track Harvester Combine, Tractor Driven Harvester Combine, Bailor, Straw Reaper, Rotavator, Roto Seed Drill and Agriculture Implements. It is a highly professionally managed company under the able guidance of highly experienced and dynamic Board of Directors consisting of S. Gurnam Singh and S. Surinder Singh.
The company official Mr. Prabhjot Singh received the students and the faculty at the entrance and gave a brief introduction of the industry. Then, he took the students from one section to the next and explained the processes involved in the production of Self Harvester Combine, Maize Harvester Combine, Track Harvester Combine, Tractor Driven Harvester Combine, Boiler, Straw Reaper, Rotavator, Roto Seed Drill, and Agriculture Implements. The students were given a complete insight of the whole plant right from the raw material to the procurement process. They were given the brief information about the various operations like CNC, BMC, Plasma cutting. Then the company official explained the production of different parts in Foundry shop. The students took keen interest to understand the procedure of different parts assembled for making combines and other agricultural implements. All the queries of the students were resolved by the plant officials.
The objective of this visit was to aware the students about the processes involved in a manufacturing and production industry. Further, objective of the visit was to give exposure to real time control systems used in industry and demonstration of different stages in production of assemblies.
