Industrial Visit to NABI

The Department of Biotechnology, CCT Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran organized an enriching industrial visit to the National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Sector 81, Mohali, on December 4, 2025 for the students of B.Sc. Biotechnology and 20 M.Sc. Biotechnology students.

As part of the visit, the students attended a National Workshop on Promoting University–Industry–Government Collaboration, hosted by NABI. The session offered a meaningful platform for young learners to bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world scientific advancements and industry expectations.

The visit began with an insightful introductory talk by Dr. Sanjna Negi, followed by live demonstrations of advanced analytical instruments including Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, HPLC, GC–MS, and MALDI–TOF. Students also explored the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory, where they observed micropropagation techniques, step-by-step culturing procedures, and learned about the commercial potential of plant tissue culture. The exposure offered a practical perspective on how laboratory research can be translated into scalable, industry-ready solutions.

The visit not only strengthened technical competency but also motivated students to pursue careers as scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators in biotechnology. It highlighted the dynamic role of biotech research in solving global challenges related to agriculture, food, healthcare, and sustainability.

The visit was a transformative learning experience—reinforcing the relevance of biotechnology in solving global challenges and emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence.
