Expert Talk on “Psychology and Cognitive Processes”

The Department of Biotechnology, CCT, CGC Landran, organized an expert talk on “Psychology and Cognitive Processes” for the students of B.Sc. Biotechnology (5th Semester). The session was delivered by Ms. Gurleen Kaur, Psychologist and Counsellor at CGC Landran, who has over six years of experience in teaching and a strong passion for mental health and wellness.

The objective of the expert talk was to familiarize students with the fundamental aspects of psychology and the underlying cognitive processes that influence human behavior, learning, memory, and decision-making. Ms. Gurleen emphasized the significance of cognitive understanding not only in psychology but also in interdisciplinary areas such as biotechnology, healthcare, and human well-being.

The session was highly interactive, where students engaged with real-life examples, case discussions, and reflective questions. Ms. Gurleen also highlighted the importance of mental health awareness, coping strategies for stress, and the role of cognitive processes in enhancing academic as well as personal growth.The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which students actively participated and shared their queries and thoughts.
