Expert talk by Pine Biotech Inc., USA

Department of Biotechnology, Chandiagrh College of Technology, CGC, Landran , Mohali oraganised an expert talk on “Bioinformatics and its future prospective” in collaboration with Omicslogic, PINE Biotech, Inc., USA.

The Department of Biotechnology always encourages development of professional and technical skill in students by providing them a platform to gain knowledge and exposure. And this too was part of that.

The session started with the online Orientation session on Bioinformatics by Dr Mohit Mazumdar, Global business development Director, Pine Biotech, USA, where he talked about the concepts of “Omics logic” and shared his valuable knowledge on incorporatng AI (artificial intelligence) and deep learning in building future medicine. This was followed by two more eminent scientists Dr Harpreet and Dr Raghavendran giving insight on precision oncology and personalized drug delivery approach.

After online session, the offline mode was conducted by Ms. Sonalika Ray, Community Manager, PINE Biotech USA on “Bioinformatics and Data Science for Biologists”. She made students acquainted with the ways of operating the database, creating, and updating their profiles on the same. Later, she gave a brief introduction about various courses being offered on the database. This concluded the session.

This expert talk turned out to be a well-structured session that filled the students with motivation and curiosity to opt for new carrier opportunities in the field of Bioinformatics.
