Expert session on Fungal and bacterial infections of skin: clinical and laboratory perspectives

The Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology, CGC Landran, Mohali, in collaboration with Dr. Alka’s Skincare and Healthcare, Mohali, organized an expert session on “Fungal and Bacterial Infections of Skin: Clinical and Laboratory Perspectives” on 1st September 2025.

Highlights of the Session:

Dr. Alka (Founder, AR International Holdings Pvt. Ltd., London, UK & Chairman, Dr. Alka’s Skincare and Healthcare, Mohali) inaugurated the session and shared her expertise on skin infections and clinical approaches.

Mr. Rajeev Rai (Co-founder, AR International Holdings Pvt. Ltd., London, UK) delivered an insightful talk on “Role of AI in Medical and Skincare Field.”

Dr. Akshita, Aesthetic Medicine Specialist, discussed “Beauty through Technology” and modern advancements in skincare.

The sessions explored prevalent skin concerns such as acne, pigmentation, and infections, while also highlighting cutting-edge treatment strategies and emerging innovations in skincare. Students gained valuable exposure to the intersection of clinical dermatology, microbiology, and biotechnology research. Alongside the session, a free skincare consultation camp was also organized at the department. The expert team offered personalized skin and health consultations. Nearly 100 students and faculty members benefitted from expert advice and routine check-ups. The event not only enhanced academic learning but also bridged the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world healthcare practices.
