The Department of Student Welfare, CGC Landran, organized a walkathon from Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh to Chandigarh Club to commemorate World Water Day 2025. The event's objective was to spread awareness about the significance of water conservation. More than 600 students and faculty members from CGC Landran participated in the Walkathon reinforcing CGC Landran’s commitment to promoting environmental consciousness.
The walkathon also witnessed the presence of Honourable President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, who was accompanied by Dr. P.N Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Bhullar, Dean, Student Welfare, and other Directors and Faculty and Staff members CGC Landran. This year’s theme, Glacier Preservation, emphasized the crucial role of glaciers as a vital source of freshwater and the urgent need to address their melting due to climate change. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President of CGC Landran, underscored the significance of World Water Day, stating that Water is the foundation of life, and its conservation is not a necessity but a responsibility we all share.
