To mark the occasion of World Heart Day, the Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology (CGC Landran), organized an impactful outreach program on September 26, 2025 at Chuhar Majra village.
A team of 25 enthusiastic students visited Chuhar Majra village to spread awareness on crucial health and social issues through Nukkad Nataks (street plays). The first performance focused on heart health, highlighting how sedentary lifestyles and excessive fast-food consumption are contributing to the rise of cardiovascular diseases. The second act addressed the growing menace of drug abuse, emphasizing its harmful effects on youth, families, and society.
The initiative was met with an enthusiastic response, with the village sarpanch and community leaders commending the students’ efforts in delivering such vital messages in a relatable and engaging manner.
By blending education with entertainment, the outreach not only created awareness but also inspired the local community to adopt healthier lifestyles and stay away from substance abuse. The initiative truly reflected CGC’s commitment towards social responsibility and community engagement.
