The NSS wing of Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran successfully organized a community outreach program under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan on 25 November 2025 at Village Chuhar Majra, Landran, Mohali. The initiative focused on spreading awareness about tuberculosis prevention, early detection, treatment compliance, and government support schemes available for TB patients.

The students of Biotechnology programme engaged directly with villagers through Nukkad natak on the theme, interactive discussion and posters. Key messages included early symptom recognition, transmission prevention, the importance of timely treatment, and community involvement in eradicating TB.

A rally was also organized across the village, where students raised impactful slogans such as “TB Harega, Desh Jeetega” and “TB Mukt Bharat”, drawing strong attention from the local community and encouraging active participation in the fight against tuberculosis.

The outreach concluded with encouraging feedback from villagers, who acknowledged the significance of such awareness activities, especially in rural areas. During the visit, the team also interacted with the village Sarpanch, who appreciated CGC Landran’s efforts in promoting public health and assured full support for similar initiatives in the future.

This initiative reflects CGC Landran’s continued commitment to community health, experiential learning, and national health missions. The event not only enriched students with hands-on public health engagement experience but also made a meaningful contribution towards building a healthier and TB-free society.
