A Seminar on Traffic Rules, Safety Awareness, and Good Citizenship

The Department of Biotechnology, CCT, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran successfully organized an impactful Seminar on Traffic Rules, Safety Awareness, and Good Citizenship on 23rd September 2025 for first-year students of B.Sc. Biotechnology, BBA, BCA, B.Sc. Graphics & Web Designing, and B.Sc. Multimedia.

Recognizing that first-year students are the future drivers and change-makers, the seminar aimed to sensitize them to traffic rules, pedestrian safety, and the values of responsible citizenship. This session was conducted as part of the Human Values, De-addiction, and Traffic Rules Lab IKGPTU curriculum.

A dedicated team from the Chandigarh Traffic Police – Head Constable Mr. Jagroop Singh, Head Constable Mr. Alkesh, Senior Constable Mr. Rajiv, Constable Mr. Pradeep, and Constable Mr. Prashant Sharma – engaged students through an interactive session.

Key highlights included:

Importance of helmets, seatbelts & lane discipline

Pedestrian safety and respecting zebra crossings

Dangers of overspeeding, drunk driving & reckless behavior

Role of Good Samaritans and their legal protection

Eye-opening statistics on road accidents in the region

The session left a strong impact, inspiring students to become responsible citizens and take personal responsibility for creating safer roads and a safer society.
