Department of Biotechnology, CCT, CGC Landran Hosts Inspiring Induction Program

The Department of Biotechnology, CCT, warmly welcomed its new batch of students through Prarambh 2025—a week-long induction program designed to orient and inspire. The program began with campus tours, student introductions, and interactions with class coordinators. On the first day, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur (HoD) provided valuable departmental insights. Key sessions by Dr. Mohinder Pal (Examination Coordinator), Dr Aditya Kumar (Placement coordinator), Ms. Nidhi Gupta (Human Values), Ms. Ankita (ERP), and Ms. Shelly Kataria (Mentor-Mentee system) ensured a strong academic and ethical foundation.

Alumni sessions were a major highlight, with Ms. Silika Gupta (B.Sc Biotech Batch 2009-2012 and Branch Manager, SBI Chandigarh) and Mr. Gourav Raina (B.Sc Biotech Batch 2008-2011, Founder, Food Protection Global & Ojas Life, Australia) sharing their inspiring journeys and professional insights. Head of NCC Deptt., Lt. (Dr.) Santosh Kumar and proud alumnus Capt. Divyansh Bhardwaj introduced students to the vision and opportunities offered by the NCC. Mr. Jitanshu led an informative session on TPP while Ms. Gurleen, in-house psychologist of CGC Landran made students aware about mindfulness. Another notable session conducted by Mr. Mayank, CEO of Rapture Biotech, highlighted industry trends and future prospects in the field.

Students also benefitted from impactful talks by institutional heads. Dr. J.S. Khatra (Director, Academics), Dr. Harsimran Kaur (Head, IQAC), Dr. Ranju Rathore (International Affairs), Dr. Sonia (ACIC RISE), , Dr. Renu Oberoi (Chief Librarian) and Dr. Gagandeep Bhullar (Student Welfare & Alumni Affairs) who shared insights on academics, quality, innovation, learning resources and student engagement.

A motivational session by Dr. Sachin Goyal (Director, Krishna IAS Academy, Chd) and informative sessions on lab orientation, clubs, value-added programs, and anti-ragging policies also added depth to the induction experience. Fun games and Talent Hunt were also organized where students participated with enthusiasm. The program concluded with a recreational visit to CP67 Mall, promoting bonding and peer interaction. The induction program at CCT Landran was a resounding success, inspiring and equipping students for their academic journey ahead.
