2 days Awareness Camp and seminar on World Cancer Day

Medical Camp organized in association with Max Super Specialty Hospital
To spread awareness on Cancer and its root causes, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran organized a two days awareness camp, rally and a seminar. Free medical check up camp was organised at Gurudrwara Sahib, Palsora village, Chandigarh in collaboration with MAX Health-care Mohali. Over 200 patients were examined, facilities like free blood pressure check up, free ECG, Blood sugar & consultation by cardiologists and cancer specialists were also provided. A rally was also held to raise awareness among general public regarding the major causes of cancer like smoking, alcohol intake, tobacco consumption, lack of exercise etc that lead to serious problems.

2nd CGC International MUN

With The Ambition to empower students to act as leaders and bridge builders to resolve critical issues under the guidelines of UN, was hosted by International Affairs CGC Landran! From the opening ceremony with guest of honor Mr. Christopher Gibbins, to over 300 delegates from different committees deliberating on various agendas and fighting it out for the best delegate and various other titles and cash prizes! CGC MUN was a colossal of activities and discussions. While ‘Prayaas’ was the novel initiative taken by CGC!

Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth Season 6

Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran hosted Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth Season 6 at its campus in association with MTV India. The hunt commenced by celebrity judges Lauren Gottlieb and Benny Dayal. It was an institutional level competition that will be telecast on India’s top Youth Channel “MTV”. It will be contested across 11 Cities this year, followed by the 4 Zonal Rounds and a Grand Finale in New Delhi.

Annual Placement Day

Over 2500 offer letters received by students from various international companies
CGC celebrated its Annual Placement Day at the campus with 2500 offer letter received by the students who got placed in over 250 international and national companies in the placement drive conducted at the campus. Students have been placed in companies from IIT, NIT, Hospitality Industry, and banking sector with a package of 5 lakhs to 27 lakhs, setting its own records. Students of CGC, Landran have been placed with the highest package as 27 lakh in Directi Internet Solutions Pvt Ltd, Microsoft with 9 lakhs, and Amazon Development Centre Pvt. Ltd. with a package of 20.5 lakh while SAP Labs India pvt. Ltd. with about 10lakhs.

CGC Landran spread awareness on World AIDS Day

Chandigarh College of Education of CGC Landran spreads awareness on HIV AIDS, its precautions and prevention on World AIDS Day. The students formed a Human Chain and went in and around the campus to spread awareness and remind people that those who suffer from AIDS too require love and care. The fact that it doesn’t spread by eating, hugging or spending time with the infected person was spread across through Slogan writing, Poster making and chanting slogans.

IKG PTU Inter College weight lifting championship over all trophy for the 7th time

Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran out shined 15 colleges from PTU in a 3 day IKG PTU College weight lifting, power lifting and best physique tournament to win the overall championship trophy 7th time in a row. CGC has left no stone unturned in any field, be it excelling in academics or setting benchmarks in the field of sports. By winning the tournament 7th time in a row we have taken a step towards the ‘All India Inter University Championship.’ Students at CGC are active participants in sports as it not only helps them keep good shape and maintain a healthy lifestyle but also becomes a professional undiscovered sometimes.

Parivartan 2k16 commences in at Chandigarh Group of College, Landran on 21st Oct and 22nd Oct.

To support the national mission started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Stand up India Start up India’, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran encourages its students to be the future entrepreneurs and lead the world with ideas and innovations in its National level techno cultural fest ‘Parivartan 2k16’ on the 21st and 22nd October. Over 30,000 students of North India’s engineering colleges will take part in the fest. Along the heritage journey, CGC with its students has also inherited an eclectic blend of Technical, Non Technical and Cultural performances and competitions wherein cash prizes of worth 5lakh will be given to the winners. Ekka band will be performing on day 1 of the fest while Superstar Singer Ranjit Bawa will set the stage on fire on day 2 of the event.

International Wiki Conference India-2016 at CGC

As an initiative to contribute in Digital India drive, Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran hosted to International Conference, Wiki Conference India-2016. The 3-day International Conference was organized by CGC Landran in association with US based Wikimedia Foundation, a company which owns internet based and world’s largest encyclopedia Multi-National Company, Wikipedia. More than 250 delegates from all across globe which includes participants from Wikimedia Foundation, USA would participate during the 3-day International Conference at Landran.

NCC Swach Bharat Abhiyaan

“NCC unit of CGC Landran today took out a Swachh Bharat Rally on Cleanliness and Safe sanitation practices in a nearby village Bairampur . Havaldar Gurjit Singh from 3Pb (I) Coy, Ropar accompanied us during Rally. The cadets from CGC Landran visited the village and were warmly welcomed by their ruling sarpanch Gurjinder Singh and his supporting team lead by Parminder Singh This movement is initiated by our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and is further promoted by various private and government sectors. Cadets along with village representatives marched through the streets of the village and raised slogans creating awareness regarding cleanliness and safe sanitation practices. There cadets visited a Gurudwara the holy place of the village, cleaned the streets and made people aware about maintaining clean environment. The whole Rally left a great lesson for the society and for the cadets too.”

Tree Plantation

“The earth is what we all have in common, we all should protect it” Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22to promote the idea of ecology. To commemorate the great day a tree plantation campaign is organized at the campus of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran. More than 150 students, faculty and non faculty members participated in the campaign and planted 25 trees around the CGC campus. Students raised the slogans and carried placards displaying various messages for protecting Earth. A lecture was delivered on the occasion by Dean Student’s Welfare, Rajesh Hooda, highlighting various measures to safeguard the earth. He mentioned that it is really important for all of us to be more aware of environmental problems so that the current as well as future generations will be living in peace and harmony with the Mother Nature.

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran wins a permanent trophy in Basket Ball

The girl’s team of CGC, Landran wins a hat trick to get to the Inter University Selection for PTU Basket Ball team Chandigarh Group of College Girls Basket ball team won against Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana in the I.K Gujral Punjab Technical University Basket Ball Tournament. The CGC girls Basket Ball team won against 10 teams in all, with a number of 4 matches against ACET Amritsar, BCET Gurdaspur, GNE Ludhiana, LCET Katani Kalan to win the gold medals and a permanent trophy for the college victoriously.

INSPIRON-The Colors of Youth!

In order to encourage the all round development of students. CBSA hosts for you INSPIRON – The Colors of Youth, with the moto “Education with Entertainment & Involvement”. Students from more than 16 colleges showcased their skills and talent!

Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran organized a Blood Donation Camp

With a motive to contribute to the society to save lives, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by Department of Computer Applications CBSA of Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran in association with PGIMER Chandigarh and Rotary Club, Kharar at the CGC Campus. The camp was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. K.S. Chauhan, IFS, Mr. Amroz Singh, DSP Traffic Police, Dr. Suchet Sachdev, PGIMER, Mr. Kamaldeep Singh Tiwana, Rotary Club, kharar along with other dignitaries. 20 doctors were at the camp from PGI to take pre medical tests and take care of the various medical requirements at the camp.
