National Seminar on how to counter mental, physical and emotional stress

Chandigarh College of Education, CGC Landran organized a National Seminar on Mental Health and Human Resilience: Societal Concern. The key note speaker for the event Dr. Pramod Kumar, Senior Consultant Psychiatry, PGIMER, Chandigarh besides other dignitaries implored that students should follow healthy routine and practice cardiac exercises along with breathing exercises and yoga for mind relaxation. He also asked to remain focused on tasks at hand which led to good mental and physical health. Students learnt that Life is not easy, but right art of living certainly makes it easy.

International BusIT Week Ends on a High Note!

Aimed at providing global education platform at one place, International BusIT Week organized at CGC Landran finally drew to an end on a high note. Bidding warm adieus to their new Indian friends and faculty, 10 international students assisted by one faculty member expressed their hearty gratitude to CGC family on the departure day for providing them with a unique opportunity to have one-on-one interaction with Indian minds and create futuristic apps. Students left with a promise to come back in future to soak them again in an intellectual experience never experienced before!

CSE Dept. of CGC COE celebrated “Prokriti 2.0” with IEEE Student Branch

Department of CSE, CGC COE in collaboration with IEEE Student Branch organized a two day event including Mock Placement , Photography , technical Quiz , Logo making , Blogging , Technical Quiz , Project Display and a workshop on Digital Marketing.The event was organized to introduce the students towards the ability of creating new things and learning how to innovate.This competition was able to demonstrate the hard work done by the students and was able to enhance the moral of other students so that they could also innovate something

“International BusIT Week” kicks off at CGC Landran

Upcoming week at CGC Landran is going to be imbued with International flavour as International BusIT Week has kicked off from today at a spirited note. This Joint Research Project Week comprises 10 International Students from Belgium and Netherlands along with a Faculty from Howest University College Belgium. The International students will work in teams with handpicked students of COE-CSC for one week on pre- decided projects, creating unique opportunity to students from both sides to gain International Exposure along with facilitating academic cum cultural exchange and enhanced learning.

CGC Landran Cricket League T-10

The laziness has been bowled over by fitness mantra as ‘CGC Landran Cricket League T-10’ cup is finally off to a flying start at CGC Landran, which aims for striking a perfect balance between studies and fun. Next few days are going to echo with loud shouts of sixes and fours with audience cheering onto their favourite players for playing masterstrokes, bowling and fielding skills. Again ‘X-Thunderbots’ CGC Team Clinched Title of Robosoccer

Tearing its way through a cloud of geniuses like a thunderbolt, team ‘X-Thunderbots’ from CGC Landran successfully defended their title of being Champions in ‘Robosoccer’ event held annually at IITDelhi. This year too, four- member team from CGC struck down over 120 teams from all across the country including all IITs with their meticulously designed Robots which play soccer and score goals. Winning Rs. 10,000/- cash prize, certificate of excellence and gift vouchers, CGCians have brought immense honours to their campus with their hard work and perseverance. Great Going!

Industrial Visit @ SML ISUZU Ltd.

To make students aware about the processes involved in an automobile manufacturing industry, the Department of Mechanical Engineering CGC COE, #CGC #Landran organized an industrial visit to its students to SML ISUZU Ltd., Ropar, Punjab. The prime objective of this industrial visit has been to give students an exposure to real time assembly operations in the industry, demonstration of different stages during the production process and give them hands-on industry experience. Students got industry insights as officially explained the processes involved in the assembly of SML commercial vehicles, ISUZU Luxury Buses and Special Application Vehicles.

NSS Camp CGC Landran

On the third day of the week long NSS Camp, CGC students took out a rally aimed at spreading awareness against drug-abuse. The rally was flagged off by Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran from the campus. Armed with placards, enthusiasm and spirited determination CGCians marched through villages in CGC’s vicinity raising slogans against drug usage and urging people to lead fit and healthy lives. They also put up a nukkad natak performance on the theme, during the rally. Post this, students and faculty got together to observe Shaheedi Diwas, paying rich tributes to and commemorating the martyrdom of Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.

NSS Camp CGC Landran

Seven day NSS camp has begun at CGC Landran under the theme Swatch Bharat, Swasth Bharat. To mark the beginning celebrations, former Chandigarh’s Mayor Ms. Harjinder kaur, presently, the chairperson of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) presided over as Chief Guest for inaugural day of the camp. Besides enlightening students about the importance of staying healthy and fit, she planted trees in the campus to promote practicing Afforestation among students to keep our environment safe and clean. First day of the camp saw students enhance their physical flexibility and mental stability by practicing effective Yoga techniques.

WORKSHOP ON MOUTH-WATERING INDIAN SWEETS @ CGC

A special workshop on ‘Milk Based Indian Sweets’ for Hotel Management students soaked in valuable tips was worth smacking lips. Organized by Chandigarh College of Hospitality, CGC Landran, this highly interactive workshop aimed at honing the culinary skills of the hotel management students. Executive Chef, Bidesh Biswas from Hotel Hometel, Chandigarh detailed students about the various steps that are required to prepare high-quality sweets.
