Special FDP on CLOUD technology organized at CGC Landran
TOPIC: ‘AWS Educate- Teach Tomorrow’s Cloud Workforce Today’ With an aim to match pace with ever changing technology, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, CGC Landran organized a special Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Cloud Technology. Samuel Harris, AWS Educate Program Manager, APAC was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Faculty of CGC was acquainted with AWS cloud, key services offered on this platform, basic architectural principals including AWS features and benefits followed by Q&A session. CGC Landran becomes Zonal Centre to bring AI revolution in Technical Education Sector
Matching up pace with changing futuristic technologies, CGC Landran is now all set to update its faculty and students with new concepts like Deep Learning and Artificial Intelligence. To enhance the skills and employability of students, AICTE has developed a Model Curriculum which has components of AI and Deep Learning. This giant project titled, ‘Making Deep Learning and AI skills mainstream in India to fulfill trilateral needs of Entrepreneurship, Industry-Academia partnership and application inspired Engineering Research’ sanctioned by Royal Academy of Engineering, UK will be initiated through 30 Zonal Partners spread across the country and CGC Landran is one of them. Under this initiative, a five member research group on AI will be established in each institution which will lead 10 other institutions. Proven Leaders in the Region in Research and Innovation CGC Landran impressively made into the list of top 10 Institutes/Universities across the country in Number of Patents filed in a year as per the Annual Report (2016-17) published by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Geographical Indicators, Government of India. Filing 30 patents in a single year, CGC Landran has been ranked 7th all over India while scoring over all the NITs and other premier institutes of the country. Heartiest congratulations to all the faculty and students for fostering Research and Innovation centric ambience at CGC Landran. We hope through concerted efforts CGC Landran reaches to number one position in the times to come.

One-Of-its-Kind visit; Discussions about Collaborations International Team CGC Landran saw the arrival of (Federation of Asian Businesses) FAB delegation from UK including Academicians, Entrepreneurs, Officials from WIBN (Women in Business Network) and British High Commission. The visiting delegates along with CGC Team explored collaborative opportunities in the field of Academics, Research & Innovation, Technology driven start-ups, Women Entrepreneurship etc. The visit aimed at facilitating connections between Education and Business sectors across the UK Northern Powerhouse and the most progressive states in India. CGC, an indisputed leader in innovation and research, was the preferred destination for such an intellectual meeting which proved to be highly fruitful accompanied by tree plantation drive and a visit to Innovation centres. National Seminar on how to counter mental, physical and emotional stress
Chandigarh College of Education, CGC Landran organized a National Seminar on Mental Health and Human Resilience: Societal Concern. The key note speaker for the event Dr. Pramod Kumar, Senior Consultant Psychiatry, PGIMER, Chandigarh besides other dignitaries implored that students should follow healthy routine and practice cardiac exercises along with breathing exercises and yoga for mind relaxation. He also asked to remain focused on tasks at hand which led to good mental and physical health. Students learnt that Life is not easy, but right art of living certainly makes it easy.
International BusIT Week Ends on a High Note!
Aimed at providing global education platform at one place, International BusIT Week organized at CGC Landran finally drew to an end on a high note. Bidding warm adieus to their new Indian friends and faculty, 10 international students assisted by one faculty member expressed their hearty gratitude to CGC family on the departure day for providing them with a unique opportunity to have one-on-one interaction with Indian minds and create futuristic apps. Students left with a promise to come back in future to soak them again in an intellectual experience never experienced before!

Department of CSE, CGC COE in collaboration with IEEE Student Branch organized a two day event including Mock Placement , Photography , technical Quiz , Logo making , Blogging , Technical Quiz , Project Display and a workshop on Digital Marketing.The event was organized to introduce the students towards the ability of creating new things and learning how to innovate.This competition was able to demonstrate the hard work done by the students and was able to enhance the moral of other students so that they could also innovate something
