To help CGCians decipher the code of IAS exam which is the dream of many students, CGC Landran organized an Exper tLecture on ‘Learn How To Crack IAS’. Mr. Avadh Pratap Ohja, an expert in History and Current Affairs cast a light on the many of the tricks required to sail through one of the toughest exams of India i.e. IAS. Over 150 students were all ears to this highly informative session and also got their queries answered significantly. Here’s the glimpse of the event!

Two Chandigarh Group of Colleges | CGC, Landran students, Girish Gupta from BBA and Aayushi Panchal from Computer Science & Engineering, BTech have brought honours to the CGC campus as they stood 1st runner-up in App Challenge category and 2nd runner-up in Debate Competition winning cash prizes besides bagging certificates and medals, in the Annual National Youth Fest UniversuMM-17, held at #Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Ambala in which teams from across India participated. Their App. was based on WomenSecurity at Work while they debated on hot topics like GST; Game Changer or Game Spoiler and #Kids in movies; a form of child labour. Congratulations to both #CGCians; get the momentum going to scale unscalable heights!!!



After #MechanicalEngineering, now comes Techno-Cultural fest vis-à-vis #ElectronicsEngineering @ CGC Landran #THEME: #OneNation, #OneVoice, #OneVision!!! After the successful conduct of ‘#Thrust2K17’ by #MechanicalEngineering students; now begins another three-day techno-cultural fest ‘#Tatva2K17’ organized by #TechComm professional society of #ECE department at #CGCLandran. First day, a lot of students from #DiplomaColleges around the region participated in various #TechnicalActivities including #LAN gaming, #JAM, #CircuitMaking, #PaperPresentation, #LogoDesign and #NailArt. About Association of Microbiologists of India

Association of Microbiologists of India (AMI) was established in 1939 and is one of the largest academic bodies in Asian region. AMI (Chandigarh Unit) is one of constituent unit having more than 300 members. The mission of the unit is to advance microbiological sciences through the pursuit of scientific knowledge and dissemination of the results of fundamental and applied research. Smart India Hackathon 2017

Smart India Hackathon 2017, a Mega Digital Programming Competition begins


A 2 Day Grand Finale being held at 26 nodal centers across the country Smart India Hackathon 2017, a pan India 36 hour hacking non-stop digital programming competition commences on April 1. The 2 day Grand Finale which is concurrently being held at 26 nodal centers across the country is jointly organized by AICTE and i4C (a not for profit organization) in collaboration with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to offer disruptive digital solutions for real time challenges affecting the Indian economy.


For the competition, 1,266 teams from various colleges throughout the country have been selected who would be competing in this Grand Finale on 1st and 2nd April to give solutions for 598 problem statements from 29 different government ministries and departments. Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has been chosen as one of the 26 nodal centers to host this Mega Event. 35 teams from across the country would be participating at this Nodal center. Winners stand to get cash prizes and a chance to be a part of NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startup programs.


You are India today and you are India tomorrow” saying this to 7596 participants of Smart India Hackathon 2017 across 26 nodal centers throughout the country, Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Mr. Prakash Javadekar, declared the mega event open. The 2 day 36 hour, pan India digital programming competition started with his enthralling speech on April 1 at 8:15 am. Addressing the participants through a video conference, he explained that this is any effort to utilize our untapped young talent and demographic dividend for nation’s building by developing solutions and tools for real problems affecting ministries and government departments.


He told all participants that with the vision of “Smart India, Aspiring India”, the Indian government is encouraging our youth to come forward and develop start ups during their college level. Not only this, the government is also promoting startups to get started in hostels and as many as 600 startups are already in operation in IIT hostels. During his address he also stressed that through the Flagship program of Make in India, our honourable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is appealing to 2 sets of people, investors and innovators to come forward for nation building. Our innovating youth can play a major role in taking Indian economy to newer heights by applying their knowledge and skills to the problems of the hour. After the participants are through with 10 hours of coding, Sh. Narendra Modi will talk to all the participants through a video conference at 10 pm on 1st April to motivate and congratulate them for this new beginning.
