2 day Awareness Camp and seminar on World Cancer Day
Medical Camp organized in association with Max Super Specialty Hospital Cancer has become one of the major deadly diseases in India with its increased proportions due to lack of awareness about disease prevention. In addition to this, the current facilities in India for its diagnosis are not at par with the prevalence. To spread awareness on Cancer and its root causes, Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran organized a two day awareness camp, rally and a seminar on the World Cancer Day.. Free medical check up camp was organised at Gurudwara Sahib, Palsora village, Chandigarh in collaboration with MAX Healthcare Mohali. Over 200 patients were examined, facilities like free blood pressure check up, free ECG, Blood sugar & consultation by cardiologists and cancer specialists were also provided to the participants. A rally was also held to raise awareness among general public about the major causes of cancer like smoking, alcohol intake, tobacco consumption, lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle etc that lead to serious problems.
2nd CGC International Model United Nations
With the ambition to empower students to act as leaders and bridge builders to resolve critical issues under the guidelines of UN, the 2nd CGC International Model United Nations was hosted by International Affairs CGC Landran! From the opening ceremony from guest of honour Mr. Christopher Gibbins, to over 300 delegates from different committees deliberating on various agendas and fighting it out for the best delegate and various other titles and cash prizes! CGC MUN was a colossal of activities and discussions.
MTV Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth Season 6
Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran hosted Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth Season 6 at its campus in association with MTV India. The talent hunt was initiated by celebrity judges Lauren Gottlieb and Benny Dayal. It was an institutional level competition that will be telecast on India’s top Youth Channel “MTV”. It will be contested across 11 Cities this year, followed by the 4 Zonal Rounds and a Grand Finale in New Delhi.
CGC Landran spreads awareness on World AIDS Day
Chandigarh College of Education of CGC Landran spreads awareness on HIV AIDS, its precautions and prevention on World AIDS Day. The students formed a Human Chain and went in and around the campus to spread awareness and remind people that those who suffer from AIDS require love and care. The fact that it doesn’t spread by eating, hugging or spending time with the infected person was spread across through Slogan writing, Poster making and chanting slogans.
NCC Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
“NCC unit of CGC Landran took out a Swachh Bharat Rally on Cleanliness and Safe sanitation practices in a nearby village Bairampur . Havaldar Gurjit Singh from 3Pb (I) Coy, Ropar the participants during Rally. The cadets from CGC Landran visited the village and were warmly welcomed by their ruling sarpanch, Gurjinder Singh and his supporting team lead by Parminder Singh. This movement is initiated by our honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and is further promoted by various private and government sectors. Cadets along with village representatives marched through the streets of the village and raised slogans creating awareness regarding cleanliness and safe sanitation practices. There cadets visited a Gurudwara, the holy place of the village, cleaned the streets and made people aware about maintaining clean environment. The whole Rally left a great lesson for the society and for the cadets too.”

Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 to promote the idea of ecology. To commemorate this day a tree plantation campaign wasorganized at the campus of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran. More than 150 students, faculty and non faculty members participated in the campaign and planted 25 trees around the CGC campus. Students raised the slogans and carried placards displaying various messages for protecting Earth. A lecture was delivered on the occasion by Dean, Student’s Welfare, Rajesh Hooda, highlighting various measures to safeguard the earth. He mentioned that it is really important for all of us to be more aware of environmental problems so that the current as well as future generations will be living in peace and harmony with Mother Nature.
Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran organized a Blood Donation Camp
With a motive to contribute to the society to save lives, a Blood Donation Camp was organized by Department of Computer Applications CBSA of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran in association with PGIMER Chandigarh and Rotary Club, Kharar at the CGC Campus. The camp was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. K.S. Chauhan, IFS, Mr. Amroz Singh, DSP Traffic Police, Dr. Suchet Sachdev, PGIMER, Mr. Kamaldeep Singh Tiwana, Rotary Club, kharar along with other dignitaries. 20 doctors were at the camp from PGI to take pre medical tests and take care of the various medical requirements at the camp.
