Pre Arrival Information
Document Checklist: (Please carry the following documents along with you while traveling)
- Original and photocopies of Academic Transcripts (Mark sheet & Certificates) Carry your original Certificates/Degree/Diploma and at least 10 passport-sized photographs.
- Original and Photocopy of your PASSPORT / NATIONAL ID and VISA
- Original Fee Transfer Receipt (SWIFT Advice from your Bank) of your Academic as well as Hostel Fee as Proof at the time of reporting and Registration for your Academic Classes.
- Ensure proper Vaccinations (Yellow fever/ HIV/COVID-19 etc.) to avoid medical complications while you are in India at the Immigration checkpoint at International Airport.
- Carry one copy of your Admission Letter issued by CGCL at the time of reporting at college.

VISA Extension TAT would be 45 days.
VISA Extension Fee is extra as per the country norms of the student and need to pay in INR.
Additional Documents
- AFFIDAVIT attests from Notary.
- All Documents need to scan in pdf Format except Photograph. Size of Photograph should be less than 50KB & Size of pdf Documents should be less than 200KB.
- Online Appointment for FRO (Appointment Booking Days Monday to Friday).
Link - Student will get his/her FRO on their Email id.
- Foreign students are required to register at FRRO within 2 weeks of their arrival to India/Immigration stamp on their Passport.
- A penalty of ---- is imposed for delay in FRO process registration beyond 2 weeks.
important details regarding the visa application process:
- When to Apply: You should apply for your visa as soon as you receive your acceptance letter from the university.
- Where to Apply: Please submit your visa application at the nearest Indian High Commission or Embassy in your home country.
- What to Apply With: Ensure that you provide all necessary documents, including the university’s provisional eligibility letter, along with your application.
- Processing Time: The visa processing typically takes between 3 to 6 weeks, so it’s advisable to apply well in advance.
- After Arrival: Once you arrive at the university, please have your visa verified and submit a copy to the university for their records.
- If Your Visa Doesn’t Cover the Entire Program: If your visa is valid for less than the full duration of your program, you will need to apply for an extension at least 60 days before your current visa expires.
Visa Requirements for Foreign Nationals:
Documents Required:
- Passport and Visa Requirement: All foreign nationals wishing to enter India are required to have a valid passport from their home country and an Indian student visa. The only exceptions are nationals from Nepal and Bhutan, who do not need a visa to enter India.
- Note: Nepalese nationals entering India from China must obtain a visa.
- Maintaining a Valid Visa: It is essential that you maintain a valid visa throughout your study period in India. It is your responsibility to ensure that your visa remains up to date during your time in the country.
- Post-Arrival Procedures: Once you arrive in India, you must verify your visa with the university and provide a copy for their records.
- Visa Extensions: If your visa does not cover the entire duration of your course, you must apply for a visa extension well in advance, at least 60 days before your visa expires.
VISA Information
Study VISA (Except Bhutanese and Nepalese students):
Obtaining an Indian Study Visa, endorsed by the name of CGCL, Mohali, Punjab, India, is your own responsibility. It is advised to apply for your study visa well in time to avoid any kind of delay in reporting to the college campus within the prescribed period.

- FORM - C is for Students who will stay in Hostel/Individual House.

FRRO Process
(Not applicable in case of Nepalese and Bhutanese students):
As per the Indian Immigration Law, all students having a valid Indian visa of more than 180 days must obtain a residential permit from the local Foreigner Registration Office (FRO).
It is strongly advised to complete your FRO/Police Registration process within the first 2weeks of arrival in India. For delay in FRO registration beyond 2 weeks, penalties will be levied for Late Registration.
