  • Launch of CGC Alumni Association – Pune Chapter on 13th May 2015.

  • Addressing the nostalgia of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran pass outs the institution opened its Alumni Chapter in Pune recently. In the first meet of the Pune Chapter many students who have passed out from various streams and are working in prestigious industrial houses like Accenture, WIPRO and L&T in Pune attended the meet. Taking them to a journey into the past Navneet Singh, Dy Director welcomed the students to the event held in a prestigious hotel in Pune. CGC was represented in the event by Dr R S Bawa, Vice Chancellor, Chandigarh University and Prof. HimaniSood, Director, Corporate Relations. DrBawa lighting the lamp congratulated the students for being a part of CGC and also for achieving recognizable levels in their professional growth. In order to run the Pune chapter successfully Alumni members from Pune were given designations to hold regular meets. Jatinder Singh, a 2008 pass out was made the President whereas Megha was made the Vice President. Some of the students who reached late due to incessant rain in Pune regretted on having missed golden moments with their friends from the same institution. Some of those present were much surprised on finding their batch mates after a long time working in the same city whee they are. The Alumni Members sat till late evening with CGC faculty and shared many snippets of the time spent in CGC. Navneet Singh welcomed the students and showed them snippets from various parts of the institution welcoming cheers from the young alumni members present. HimaniSood talked to them about employability trends and challenges in today’s foray. All the students present were given mementoes by the guest of honor DrBawa. The students promised to have professional and personal networking in order to repay their Alma Mater. They suggested that there should be more diversity in terms of students representing different states of India to which DrBawa replied by informing that as of now students from 26 states of the country are studying in various institutions of CGC. They appreciated the placement efforts of the institution and thanked the staff and management for the concern they show for their development. The group would soon be opening Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Delhi chapters to meet and share information with the pass outs. The Chandigarh Chapter of Alumni would be meeting once a year and it will coincide with the convocation, informed Navneet Singh. Satnam Singh Sandhu Chairman CGC sharing his elation on the development congratulated the students on their achievements as well as for the formation of Alumni chapter in Pune. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal President CGC promised full co operation and support to the Alumni body and also wished that the Alumni members should regularly guide present and future batches giving their due to the Alma Mater.
