Project Pure
Giving a fillip to Tourism in Punjab by improving the status of Road Side Eateries, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) has entered into collaboration with the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board by launching a project named ‘Project for Upgradation of Road Side Eateries (PURE). Under this programme, Chandigarh College of Hotel Management would provide training in the preparation of healthy and good food, cleanliness, hygiene and hospitality to 10 dhabas identified by the government. Inaugurating the project at Mittran da Dhaba situated on Morinda- Samrala Highway, the Tourism Minister, Govt. of Punjab, Sh. Hira Singh Gabria, said that these 10 dhabas will be given the logo of PURE by the state government. The minister appreciated the efforts of the CGC for the development of the society at large. Being associated with this mission of PURE which aims at improving the quality and standard of food served by these road side dhabas to ensure tourists' health and to educate the owners and entrepreneurs running these eateries CGC’s objective is also to provide free guidance to attract and enlighten the youth of Punjab to venture into this industry. Hence CGC feels a great satisfaction in providing a continuous, much needed helping hand in the development of tourism industry in the state.
