About the Course

CGC offers a two-year, full time post graduate degree in multi-media which is approved by Govt, of Punjab and affiliated to Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. The course introduces a student to 2-d animation 3-d animation, web designing, graphic designing, multimedia, videography, special effects in animation, rigging and lighting in animation, sound effects and 3d effects in cartoon and feature films in the first two semesters. The course offers specialization in web designing, multi-media, animation and graphic designing in the third and the fourth semesters

Career Prospects

An animation professional can find job as a visualizer, 3-d animator, storyboard artist, layout artist, CBT developer, web designer, special effects designer, character designer, concept artist, texture and lighting artist. The course opens up avenues in print media (newspapers, magazines, journals, etc), advertising agencies, television and films industry. As of now, our companies have garnered only 10% of global multimedia and animation business that can be outsourced to India. Hence there is ample scope to grab the remaining business. An ASSOCHAM study has forecast that 2 lakh jobs will be generated in this sector in coming years. Thus, the future of animation and multimedia industry in India is very bright.
