About Faculty of Bio-Pharma Sciences
The Faculty of Bio-Pharma Sciences offers full time programmes in the domain of B. Pharma, Bachelors of Bio-Technology, Masters of Bio-Technology and Masters of Pharma Chemistry. The objective of the department is to prepare competent professionals who can serve the needs of pharma industry in the domain of research, drug discovery, clinical trials, marketing, administration, etc.Bio-technology is a science involving the use of living organism in processes for the manufacture of useful products. The department deals in multi-disciplinary biological sciences which includes genetics, microbiology, animal cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, embryology, cell biology, cell & tissue culture, immunology & chemistry. The department also deals in learning of modern use of bio-technology in production of useful proteins in bacteria, curing genetic diseases and to develop resistance against diseases caused by virus, bacteria and insects in plants.

We are heading towards new era of revolutionary advances in science and technology. Biotechnology and Pharmachemistry offer a wide variety of career opportunities ranging from research and development, to manufacturing and quality control and assurance. Not only is the total number of biotechnology and pharma companies increasing, but employment in the Bio-pharma field continues to grow as well. Faculty in the Department has expertise in all the areas of Pharma Sciences like: Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacology, etc. The Biopharma professional at CGC Gharuan are multi-faceted with competencies in a variety of domains including clinical and scientific expertise.
Students enrolled in the graduate and post graduate programs at CGC will have an opportunity to work in modern laboratories equipped with state of the art equipment. They will also have the opportunity to interact with professionals at pharmaceutical/biotechnology companies.
